Reality Store ~
This fall the Reality Store simulation will be offered for students across Fayette County. Scheduled dates for this simulation are:
About Reality Store
The program has each student randomly select a career (ex. farmer, plumber, accountant, and lawyer) and a marital status (ex. single, married with one child, two children or three children).
Each student is then given enough money for one month's worth of wages (before taxes) and asked to visit 18 booths. They will make financial decisions based on their monthly income. These booths include firstly, taxes (Uncle Sam booth) and then move onto such booths as housing, transportation, entertainment, etc. where they make critical decisions based on their income.
Finally, students debrief as a group via a series of questions that identifies what they learned as a result of the simulation.
