Two race courses will offer opportunity for intermediate and advanced paddlers to compete; Attainment Race & Down River Race.

Race fee is $30 per person with online registration date TBA. This includes both races even if you choose to only do one race. Proceeds benefit the Fayette County 4-H Outdoor Adventure Club for area high school students. Additional donations are welcomed.

1:00pm West Virginia's first Kid's SUP Race. More details to come. Free for kids and parents. 

2:00pm Attainment Race will begin as a mass start on the water. Racers will paddle upstream 2 miles attaining through a class 1 rapid, around a buoy, and back to the start line. This race takes between 20-45 minutes. It is appropriate for beginner to intermediate paddlers but some experience is needed and highly recommended that participants have seen the course previously.

3:00pm The Down river Race is the real deal. Racers will begin in a mass start on the water. There will be 100 yards of flat water before entering a challenging class 3 rapid, Fayette Station. Racers will continue downstream for 2.5 miles through two more class 2 rapids. This course is for confident whitewater paddlers. Shuttle is provided from the finish line back to the start area. Helmets, pfd's, but no leashes. 

Board length under 12'6" and you must use the same board for both races. No leashes. 

Spectators are encouraged to attend, talk to SUP athletes, and watch the action of both races. Event opens at 12:30pm. 

Parking is limited and each year we continue to grow. Parking attendants and signage will be in place. Please follow directions so the event can continue.

For those familiar with the area, support volunteers and vendors can park in the upper beach parking lot. Racers can drive around the upper beach parking lot to drop off equipment and then move cars to the Cole Lot. The down river race shuttle will return paddlers to the Cole Lot. 

The event usually ends by 4:30pm. Race entry includes dinner.
